Tune is a digital wellness platform built with privacy at its core.
Here's what that means in practice: Tune has no ads, no tracking, and no account required. Your screen time data stays on your device and is never sent to us. We collect only what's needed to make the app work.
1. Permissions
- Screen Time: Used to monitor and manage your device usage. This data is processed entirely on your device by Apple's Screen Time framework and stays on your device.
- Notifications: Used to send streak reminders, Tune Score updates, and alerts. Optional.
2. What We Collect
2.1 What stays on your device
Your screen time data - which apps you use and for how long - is handled entirely on your device by Apple's Screen Time framework. It stays on your device.
2.2 What we store on our servers
We store the minimum needed to sync your settings and power features:
- Device ID: A random identifier generated on your device. Tune does not collect your email, phone number, or real name - you don't even need an account.
- Profile: If you choose to set a display name or avatar, we store it. This is optional.
- Streak data: Your streak configurations and progress, so they sync reliably and work with buddies.
- Analytics: Basic usage data (e.g. which features you use, device type, app version) so we can improve the app and fix bugs.
- Push notification token: So we can deliver streak reminders. Managed by Apple and Firebase.
- Poll responses: If you voluntarily respond to an in-app feedback poll, your answers are stored so we can improve the app.
- Purchases: In-app purchase transactions are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment information.
3. Buddy Streaks
If you participate in a buddy streak, your display name and streak progress are visible to your streak partner so you can stay accountable together. No other personal information is shared between users.
4. How We Use Your Data

- Syncing your settings and streak data across sessions
- Sending push notifications you've opted into
- Improving the app based on usage patterns
- Finding and fixing bugs
5. Third-Party Services
Tune runs on Google Cloud. We use:
- Firebase (Google): Stores your profile, streaks, and settings. Handles push notifications and crash reporting. Privacy Policy

- RevenueCat: Manages in-app purchases. Privacy Policy
None of these services are used for advertising. Your data is not sold or shared beyond what's described here.
6. Data Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Google Cloud infrastructure). Access to server-side data is restricted to the Tune development team.
7. Your Rights
- Uninstall the app to delete all local data
- Manage permissions (Screen Time, Notifications) in your device settings at any time
- Contact us to request deletion of all server-side data associated with your device
8. Data Retention
Local data stays on your device until you uninstall. Server-side data is retained while you use the app and deleted upon request.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you through the app or on this page.
